Disabling Balloon Tips at Startup in Windows

By VJ | May 23, 2007

Tired of getting Balloon tips at startup? Would you like to disable them. If yes, then here is a real simple way of doing it.

Balloon Tips

If you are using Windows Xp, just follow these steps.

  1. Go to Run and type “gpedit.msc”
  2. You will see a window coming up, in that window go on to User configuration –> Administrative templates –> Start menu and Taskbar.
  3. Now on the Left side of screen just look for Remove balloon tips on startup items
  4. Double click on that and just choose “Enabled”. click ok and exit.
  5. After that go to Run and type in “gpupdate” and click ok.

Now you are done. You will not face these Balloon Tips again in future at startup, You can also disable it to get the tip back again.
I would strongly recommend not to use this feature if you are not comfortable with it.
