Create a Password Reset Disk Before You Forget Your Password

By VJ | Jun 2, 2007

If you are using Windows Xp, and you tend to forget passwords sometimes then here is a solution for you all. Windows provide a feature through which you can create a Password Reset Disk, and that can be used when you have forgotten your password.
Creating and using this disk is all easy. Just follow these steps to create a Password Reset Disk.

  • Go to Control Panel –> User accounts, an then choose the Administrator account.
  • On the account details page, on the left top corner, you will see a link saying “Prevent a Forgotten Password”.
  • Password Reset Disk

  • You will see a Wizard coming up, just follow the instruction and you will be able to successfully create a Password Reset Disk.

Now the biggest advantage is that, no matter how many times you change your password after creating this disk, you will still use that same disk only. But make sure that you keep this disk in a secure place as anybody who get access to this disk would be able to get access to your computer as well.
