In some computers, might be yours, Outlook Express doesn’t saves password even if you select “Remember Password”, and you need to enter password every time you open your account. This can be really disturbing when you need to check your mails number of times in a day. You can try Reinstalling the Outlook Express, but still no good, then what can be the possible solution to that. Well the same happened to me on my new laptop, but i was not able to find a solution for many days. I searched on the net and found that there are some registry settings for Outlook Express, that needs to be modified, and thus can work properly. I was also shocked to see that this was the most common problem in Outlook Express people face and are not able to solve that.
So I got this solution which helped me to fix this problem
Just follow these steps to make it working.

  1. Go to Run and Type Regedit.
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ProtectedStorageSystemProvider
  3. Right Click on Protected Storage System Provider and click Permissions.
  4. Now click the Advanced button and another box will come up. In this box, make sure that the 2 options are ticked. Click ok and ok again.
  5. Now open the Protected Storage System Provider tree and if you see any folder there, delete them.
  6. Now reboot your computer and you are done.
  7. OE Password

This is the solution to the problem, if you are facing it. Again as i said earlier whenever you are editing registry, do it with great care. If you are not comfortable with it, use any registry editing softwares.

Try These.

hey, I never encountered this problem.Whenever i give remember password in account settings,it always remembered. Might be coz I was always with Administrative privileges :-). Quite possible this problem must be for guest user.

This issue comes in mostly when we have multiple users in a single computer, but i faced it because i have different identities, and this was not showing me in my identity which was not the default one.
This problem for guest user can be there, but he can never edit the registry.
