Recently, I came across with a virus, which simply makes you “Folder Options” invisible, and creating great troubles for me. Firstly I thought that it was some windows file that could have gone corrupt, and then i thought of running the setup once again. But when I saw what changes have been made to my registry, I saw a small change, a new DWORD value was created. Changing the value did the trick and i was successfully able to see the Folder Options and do the desired changes. If you are facing this problem too, Here is what I did.
The folder options should now work properly. If in case you need to hide Folder Options then this is a cool trick as well.

You are lucky buddy. When i was infected and i tried this , it didnt work. I had to format my computer . I think it is mainly caused by Ravmon virus.
Never happened this to me. But the work around is good.
hey this is a easy way to do it if you know the exact registry settings. I was using gpedit.msc ( group policy editor , microsoft console ) in run and then enabling the option.
I haven’t found the DWORD in my PC. I’m afraid this procedure doesn’t work in all cases resulting the removal of folder option…
Well, i must tell you that Registry is available in all Windows, And this trick has been tested on XP, and it will work in all XP systems.
Hi this is very easy to do, By this i can see folder options button again.
Thanks & Regards
Nagendra

@ deepak : You might not be able top see this value, You can create it, so as to hide or unhide the Folder Options
