Capture better Screenshots with ACA Capture Pro

By VJ | Mar 28, 2008

A week back, Labnol gave away 10 free licenses to ACA Capture Pro Screen capturing Software. I was one of the lucky ones to get a opportunity to work with this software. I have now been working with this software for a week now, and started liking it slowly.
I was using Snag It and sometimes Camatasia Studio as well, but this was something different. Let me tell you how good this software is.

ACA Capture Pro screen capture software, software for windows which allows us to quickly capture Screenshots, Webpages, Web images and more. Company also proves that this software can take images of DirectX, Direct3D game and video player screen, but I never gave it a shot.
ACA Capture Pro has enhanced features like it capture all flash file from web page, and capture any icons whatever from a file, a directory, or whole harddisk on your computer, which is one of the best features I like about this software.

First thing that comes to your notice is that it embeds itself in Internet Explorer, and offers you different options. One of the best options you will see is “Capture All Images“, which captures all the images in a web page. This can be really handy when you want to capture all the images on a page, where there are lots of images, and doing a right click and save can be a painful job. However, it does not have any option to integrate with Firefox, as I am a hardcore firefox user, and most of us are.

Second thing that comes to notice is that when you press “Print Screen” this software automatically comes into action. This makes it sure that even capture screen without this software, you start using it ;)

One of the last things that I tested was the quality of Images and videos. Talking of the images, these were fine in quality, but when you talk of size, they are pretty large, and the image quality could have been better when we see size so big.
Secondly, If we take videos quality into consideration, it was not very impressive. The size again was very big, which did not provided good quality at all. 1 minute of video at 20 FPS counted to be more then 150 Mb, and that too without audio.
Now that was very surprising when I did the same with Camatasia Studio, and the file size was much lower and quality was far better then what was captured by this software.

All in all, this is pretty good software with good in depth options available which no other software providing that. I will still take time to shift completely to ACA Capture Pro, but Camatasia is still a better video capturing tool ;)
